Game News: The Conduit Pre-Order Upgrade Revealed

An interesting tidbit of information regarding pre-ordering the highly-anticipated upcoming Wii exclusive title, The Conduit was just announced.

Here’s a snippet from Sega of America’s statement:

For a limited time, pre-order The Conduit at GameStop and receive a Special Edition upgrade, which includes:

• Follow the Conduit from concept to creation in the 24-page “making-of” book.
• Unlock the secrets of the The Conduit with the “All-Seeing Eye” (A.S.E.), featuring custom detailing and light projection.
• Dominate your opponentes in intense multiplayer matches with the “Secret Agent” skin.

*Just a quick note, you may notice that the word “opponents” is spelled wrong in that last list item from the statement. That was Sega’s error, not mine.

Sega is really doing big things with Nintendo’s little white box. Though the two were, at one time, mortal enemies, the house that Sonic built is quickly becoming one of the biggest third-party supporters behind Nintendo’s system. The House of the Dead: Overkill treated Wii gamers to a zombie-blasting bloodbath. The upcoming title The Conduit is a game everyone is talking about. And here we are with MadWorld, one of the most stylish, violent, funny, and just pure bad ass games of this generation on any system.

thehouseofthedeadoverkill

Overkill is the newest entry in the famous House of the Dead light-gun arcade games and the second House of the Dead game to grace Nintendo’s little white box. The first was House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, a retread of, you guessed it, the second and third games in the series on one disc. Review: Sonic Unleashed (Wii)

sonic-unleashed-wiiOverview:

System: Wii (also on: PS3, 360)
Developer: Sonic Team
Publisher: Sega
Genre: Platforming / Beat ’em up

Remember back in gaming’s golden age when Sonic was still relevant to gaming? Don’t you wish that Sega would just put Sonic back the way he’s supposed to be without all the fancy 3D and annoying extra characters? Well if so, this game is only half for you. Half? Yeah, half of the game is a great callback to the classic Sonic games of the past and half is an atrociously slow, unbearably bad beat ’em up. I’ll explain in the review.

The House of the Dead: Overkill Trailer

Sega is publishing a new House of the Dead game, sub-titled Overkill, exclusively for the Wii. This would’ve been a good post for Halloween, I know, but I just didn’t care too much that day. I was sick. Anyway, this game will be a prequel to the killer arcade franchise and will be released some time in 2009 and you can bet your scared little arse I’ll have a review on it ASAP. Check out the trailer, which I’ve embedded below. Note the extremely awesome Grindhouse flare to it.
