[Energy Drink Review] Nitrous Monsters

nitrousmonster

Overview:

Monster has been a leader in its industry for as long as I’ve had an interest in energy drinks. They have managed to attain their high status by constantly mastering every new innovation the industry sees. Java Monster, Juice Monster, Monster Hitman–Every time a new form of energy drink comes out, Monster is right there perfecting it and creating top-notch products.

But lately Monster has been the industry’s lead innovator as well. Things started off with Monster Import and its brilliant new resealable can design, an innovation that proved worthy of the hype. And now Monster is introducing Nitrous Monsters, the first energy drinks ever to be nitrogenated.

The hype surrounding this new line of drinks is pretty hot, but does the end product manage to live up to everyone’s expectations?

Straight from the can:

Nitrous Oxide makes your car faster at the Drags, but put in a drink? Call us crazy, but we combined Nitrous Oxide with Carbon Dioxide in a precise ratio and injected it into our potent Monster Energy base. Nitrous Monster has a unique texture, smooth drinkable flavor and buzz that’s bigger than ever.

This is no “Whip-It”, but it will whip you good…

[Energy Drink Review] Nitrous Monster: Anti Gravity

nitrousmonsterantigravityReview:

Anti Gravity has a powerfully fruity aroma that tickles your nostrils and gets your mouth watering in anticipation. The scent is clearly pineapple, possibly with a little mango and citrus undertones, but I’m not sure. The aroma seems very natural, with little chemical help to achieve the lovely pineapple aroma. But while the scent is delicious, it strongly reminds me of several other drinks on the market, primarily Monster’s own M-80. Continue reading

[Energy Drink Review] Nitrous Monster: Killer-B

nitrousmonsterkiller-bReview:

Killer-B is the only flavor of Nitrous Monster with a name that I understand. The can is decorated with a honeycomb design, it’s called Killer-B, it is obviously honey flavored. Knowing this when leaning in to take a first whiff, I was almost taken aback when I actually picked up the aroma. It is absolutely nothing like I had expected. Instead of smelling powerfully sweet and primarily of honey, like I had expected, I was treated to a rather delicious light, aromatic aroma that reminded me of a crisp tea flavored lightly with honey. Very delicious, but definitely not what I was expecting. Continue reading

[Energy Drink Review] Nitrous Monster: Super Dry

nitrousmonstersuperdryReview:

Popping the cap off of the can of Super Dry, you will be immediately met with an absolutely delicious aroma. And I mean it is fantastic. Perfect. And I’m not kidding. Super Dry is the first product I’ve ever reviewed that scores a perfect 10 in the aroma department. It’s a strong lime scent with a perfect balance between sweet and sour. After opening a can of Super Dry, I literally put my nose inside of the opening to breath for the next several minutes. It is really unbelievably delicious, and I often times buy this flavor just for the scent. Continue reading

[Energy Drink Review] Syzmo Organic Energy Drink

Overview:

Syzmo Organic Energy DrinkI’m going to go ahead and be honest with you guys. I usually refuse to taste anything with a label of “Organic” since I had a terribly frightful experience with organic peanut butter. I don’t really want to go into it here, but let’s just say that there was lots of blood, tears, and a great loss of dignity involved.

Organic things just usually suck. I’m not saying all organic products are the pits, but the majority of them are absolutely disgusting when sat next to their chemical-enriched counterparts. And if anything has the potential to go horribly wrong by becoming organic it’s energy drinks. And peanut butter. So much blood… Continue reading

[Energy Drink Review] Die Hard Sports Energy

Die Hard Energy DrinkOverview:

Sports/Energy Drink hybrid products are certainly nothing new. The trend was started with Brawndo: The Thirst Mutilator, which was actually the very first sports energy drink on the market. Since its release there have been more and more of these hybrids that are designed to deliver a decent kick while keeping your body hydrated for strenuous exercise, something that standard energy drinks can’t do.

Straight from the can:

Scientifically formulated to deliver effective hydration, responsible energy and natural flavors to ensure optimum performance before, during and after physical activity.

Responsible energy? Sounds boring. Continue reading

[Energy Drink Review] MonaVie EMV Energy Supplement

MonaVieEMVOverview:

A while back I got my hands on a couple of cans of Verve, an extremely healthy energy supplement with powerful antioxidant attributes. Compared to other similar products, I thought Verve was probably the best energy supplement out there. But that was before I tried MonaVie EMV. Continue reading

Review: Monster Hitman

Monster HitmanOverview:

Hitman is Monster’s newest product, a tiny 3 swig shot of powerfully potent energy potion. You’re probably most familiar with 6 Hour Power energy shots, and if you’ve been looking then you’ve most likely started to see NOS, Full Throttle, and AMP putting out their own shots.

These shots are designed to give a sufficient kick that lasts for a while and has no traceable crash. Some do it better than others, and I’ll always prefer my energy drinks to be canned, hard hitting, short lived beasts with delicious tastes and aromas, but these shots are a good substitute for those who don’t like the crash, however subtle it may be.

Does Hitman nail it’s target?

Review: Kronik Energy

Kronik EnergyOverview:

You’d probably think a generic energy drink called Kronik would be totally gross, as did I. I did, however, walk away from the can feeling slightly less satisfied than other drinks would leave me, yet a little surprised that I wasn’t throwing up or seeing clowns come out of the walls.

Straight from the can:

WARNING: MAY BE PSYCHOLOGICALLY ADDICTING

Why is this legal but Cocaine Energy isn’t? Oh well.

Review: Full Throttle Blue Demon

Full Throttle Blue DemonOverview:

Blue Demon, the cousin of Fury, is a blue agave flavor supplement from Full Throttle. Chances are that you don’t know what blue agave is, so I’m going to tell you. The blue agave, or tequila agave, is a plant found most prominently in Mexico and is used to make — as you may have guessed — tequila. It’s basically a needle free cactus with a succulent, sweet tasting heart which is used for many alcoholic beverages, but mainly just tequila. There, you’ve learned something useless today!

So does Blue Demon, like tequila, cause your clothes to fall off? Let’s find out.
