Review: Land of the Dead (2005)
George A. Romero has long been the reigning zombie movie king, ever since his classic film Night of the Living Dead. I recently reviewed Zack Snyder’s remake of Romero’s Dawn of the Dead and fell in love with it. Does George still reign as king of the zombies in the modern movie market?
Review:
Story:
Land of the Dead is, unlike Dawn of the Dead, a by-the-books zombie flick. The undead are plentiful, slow and stupid. But there’s a catch! In the surroundings of the fortified city where survivors of the zombie apocalypse reside the zombies have begun to show signs of evolution. They are learning! Well, more like remembering. They are relearning how to communicate and even operate in more intelligent manners. Couple that with their insatiable hunger for human flesh and you’ve got yourself a mess. Continue reading
Skies are Grey for Nintendo Fans
And by skies I mean the logo. That’s right, Nintendo changed their official logo from the long time red one to this new grey one.
Everything about the logo is still the same, mind you. The font and oval thing all remain, but the warm, loving and understanding red has been replaced with a cold, lonely feeling grey. Sigh. Not that big of a deal, but it still breaks my heart.
Retro-Review: Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! (NES)
Overview:
Who doesn’t love Punch Out? I don’t think I know a single person. When Punch Out was first released it was widely regarded as the single best and most innovative boxing game available. Period. Here we are, over 20 years later and it’s still one of the funnest games out there. If you’ve never played Punch Out, you can download it on the Wii’s Virtual Console for 5 bucks and score yourself endless fun. Continue reading
Coming in December
This December we are going to be some busy bloggers. First on the menu is a new award we are granting to only the most skilled, talented and deserving of Indie bands called, duh, Everyview’s Indie Band of the Month Award! The first band to win this coveted award will be revealed the first day of December, so check back for that.
We are also going to make some Holiday Shopper’s Guides. Everything from gifts for gamers, energy drink fanatics/addicts, the tobacco lover, the geek, the musician, and even for the old man down the street will be covered in our shopper’s guides. Excited? I know.
Anyway, that was just a quick update since I don’t feel like working on the Land of the Dead review that’s almost a month overdo.
Retro-Review: Dragon View (SNES)
Overview:
Dragon View, made by Kemco in 1994, is a single-player RPG that features the main character, Alex (the default name, you can rename him at the start), as a swordsman in a village. It starts off with Alex doing some sword thrusts. 100,000 to be exact. After finishing his sword exercises, a girl comes up to Alex and starts screaming about her Grandpa missing. Alex agrees to go find her grandpa, and the adventure begins…

Review: Gazzu Energy
Overview:
Gazzu is a strange product. I really think the people who made this were trippin out on something. Hard. Why do I say this? Check out what they have as their product description on the back our the can:
This Gazzu is something really different. They tell me that it’s a guarded secret formula used to make it, and the word it it’s not from Earth. I know this guy, who is connected, and he told me the secret ingredient is like moon dust! They figured out how to grow it in these labs, like crystals. Man, this stuff is crazy, it tastes better than any energy drink I’ve ever had.
Awesome energy and taste that’s like ….. cosmic. It’s Gazzu!! Hey, gimme a G.
Moon dust? Really? Hmm.

Review: Wall-E (2008)
Overview:
The severely cute robotic love/post apocalyptic tale of Wall-E is now available on DVD. Jam-packed with extras including new animated short Burn-E, some sweet commentary, and the coolest box I’ve ever seen. Wall-E proves once again that Pixar CG films are almost always timeless classics that encapsulate the imagination beyond that of most other films. Continue reading
