[Drink Review] Bossa Nova: Goji Berry with Tart Cherry

A while back I posted a review for my first ever Bossa Nova drink, and I was very impressed with it. So impressed in fact, that instead of drinking the rest of the samples Bossa Nova sent me, I instead stocked up on the Mangosteen flavor I reviewed, and have been drinking that until today, when I finally ran out.

Now I’m moving on to the next flavor, carefully chosen by blindly grabbing around inside of my mini fridge and taking out the first one I touched, Goji Berry with Tart Cherry. I was actually pretty disappointed with my selection, only because I was in a very Blueberry-y mood. Oh well, there’s nothing I could’ve done about it.

Review

My disappointment began to fade almost immediately as I cracked open the sexy-shaped bottle and took a whiff of the dark red nectar that sat inside. A very enjoyable aroma tantalized my senses in a way that I had not anticipated. The sour and tart aspects were balanced brilliantly with a delightful sweetness, culminating together to create and aroma that is as candy and pie filling. Absolutely fantastic.

It tastes just as good, and my craving for blueberry faded away as soon as the delicious juice hit my lips. A great texture, this flavor of Bossa Nova is very refreshing and extremely satisfying. I would imagine that one who was craving something tart, or some kind of candy, could pick this up and it would hit the spot sensationally, while also providing a very formidable dosage of all kinds of good things.

Goji is full of good stuff — wonderful stuff, in fact — that your body really benefits from. It’s great for your immune system and your eye sight, contains tons of Vitamin A, and a lot of micronutrients. The only problem is Goji Berry tastes terrible. Luckily here, the partnering of cherry juice seems to be like a real winner, covering up the entirety of anything unfavorable that the Goji Berry brought with it in terms of taste.

Final Words:

It’s very impressive to me that Bossa Nova is able to produce such fantastic flavors of such insanely beneficial drinks. Don’t get me wrong, there are other brands out there that do the same thing and I drink them about as often as I do Bossa products. The thing is, I generally find Bossa Nova to be better than the competition, beating everyone else in terms of taste and usually containing for beneficial aspects as well.

The only issue is the price, which is competitive with other brands of similar products but is still a bit out of reach for the average consumer to purchase on a regular basis. If you’re this drink’s demographic, though, (and you know who you are) you won’t mind pumping out the dough.

I really enjoyed this drink, and if you are looking for something to cure your craving for tartness or something sour, then grab one of these instead of a bag of Skittles. You won’t regret it.

Pros

  • Tastes and smells great
  • Full of nutrients that your body loves
  • Very beneficial
  • Vitamin A
  • Smells like pie filling

Cons

  • Goji berry tastes bad
  • A bit expensive for the average consumer

Score: 8.75/10 (Great)
