[Movie News] Star Trek DVD and Blu-Ray Bonus Content Revealed

There is seriously a (space)ship load of extra content planned to release alongside the “Star Trek” DVD/Blu-Ray which is tentatively scheduled for an October 5th release date. But tentative dates rarely stick, so just keep an eye out for the date to change.

Summer ’09 Movie Season Part 1

summer-movieEach year, film studios stack their summer release schedule with some can’t-miss blockbusters, usually sequels, and they make millions and millions of dollars. It’s tried and true. People have a little bit more spare time during the summer, and are maybe a little more apt to go to the theater to spend some of their hard earned money.

Summer 2009 has been horrifically disappointing thus far. We started off May 1st with the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and will continue this week with the much anticipated release of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Continue reading

Movie News: Star Trek Put to the Scientific Test

Phil Plait, a self-proclaimed Trekkie and creator of the popular Discover Magazine blog Bad Astronomy, has recently analyzed several different scenes from Star Trek. Several events are debunked as false statements pressed forward by the Hollywood startrekpostermachine, which might just break your geeky heart if you believe everything in the Star Trek universe is fact, but it’s an absolutely great and entertaining read and I highly recommend you all check it out. And as a quick side note, I watched the film the other night and was absolutely blown away. I haven’t decided if I should review the theatrical release or wait until the Blu Ray release, so maybe you guys can make up my mind. Let me know in the comments section.
