(Movie Review) Toy Story 4 (2019)

I’m a couple weeks away from turning 34 years old. Even so, I couldn’t wait to hit the old cinema opening day for the release of the highly anticipated Toy Story 4.

In a summer packed with franchise after franchise seemingly exhausting audiences because many of them don’t offer anything essential to the franchise, I had a tinge of worry in my toy-loving belly that maybe this fourth installment would fall well short of what I think is probably the best and most universally adored film trilogy of all-time. So did the film deliver on expectations?  Continue reading

[Game Review] Disney Epic Mickey (Wii)

System: Wii (Exclusive)
Developer: Junction Point Studios
Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios
Release Date: November 25, 2010
Genre: Action Adventure

I can’t tell you why, but something about this game had me more than just a little bit excited before its release. It was very strange, because I’m not generally interested in anything Epic Mickey had to offer. I’m not really a huge fan of Disney. I’m not one who cares greatly about decision/consequence gameplay. And the game’s biggest selling point to hardcore gamers, having Warren Spector behind production, didn’t excite me in least because I had no idea who that even was.

Still, I couldn’t help but getting hyped up for what I had convinced myself was going to be the next great Wii game. And then it actually hit store shelves, and the flood of reviews stating it was merely “average” or simply “good” caused my interest to wane immediately, and the game fell off of my radar until Christmas, when I received it as a gift from Santa Claus.

I can now confirm that the game is merely “good,” as many other critics have stated, but there is something special about Epic Mickey that makes the experience much more satisfying than I had expected.

[Movie Review] Up (Theatrical)

up-movieOverview:

Pixar just won’t stop. Every summer, it seems, they keep making movies that look like children’s movies but in the end turn out being something far more. Last summer they showed the world Wall-E, a seemingly cute and innocent movie about robots in love, but under the surface lied a tragic tale of our world being destroyed at the hands of global warming, heartbreak, betrayal, and perhaps the easiest to relate to, obesity. “Blank Check” VS “First Kid” The Results Are In!

Hey there everyone, today marks the 7th day of our premiere Master Debate’s Launch which means it’s time to close the polls and announce the winner! We had lots of votes and tons of support, so thanks to everyone who voted!

The face off was between Everyview Editor Clayton Cunningham and up-and-coming Contributor Andrew Majors. The debate was an intense and bloodthirsty battle between two “classic” live-action Disney films from the early t0 mid 1990’s, “First Kid” and “Blank Check” a battle worthy of gladiatorial status and recognition. Review: Wall-E (2008)

walle3

Overview:

The severely cute robotic love/post apocalyptic tale of Wall-E is now available on DVD. Jam-packed with extras including new animated short Burn-E, some sweet commentary, and the coolest box I’ve ever seen. Wall-E proves once again that Pixar CG films are almost always timeless classics that encapsulate the imagination beyond that of most other films. Continue reading
