Disappointed this isn't very good, but the writing was on the wall. You have a writer/director who never evolved after early success, and a comedian who has never played anyone except a version of himself. Take a pretty tepid sounding plot, an overall lackluster cast, and what your left with is disappointment. I'll wait until this hits HBO.

Nice review, Sexy.

I liked this movie better than The Invention of Lying, but not much more.Agree with most of your review - found the movie to be arrogant, condescending, & tired. Most of it due to Allen's waining talent. No problems with Larry. Larry was pretty much Larry - I guess I don't expect much from him as an actor. What I found most tiresome & implausible is the whole Manhattan-like fantasy of an unlikeable old man being in the least interesting to a pretty, vapid young woman. Evan Rachel Wood may be a good actress - can't judge, as I've never seen her before - but I found her character annoying & cartoon-like. Jeez, Woody, give it a rest!
