Review: Java Monster Irish Blend

irish-java-monsterOverview:

The Irish blend of Java Monster is a unique breed. Like the formerly reviewed Russian, Irish is essentially meant to be a non-alcoholic recreation of your favorite foreign liquor with a shot of Java Monster for extra flavor. The Russian, for instance, was essentially a virgin White Russian, and the Irish blend is, obviously, a virgin Irish Creme. Think Bailey’s. Without the booze.

Awesome? Let’s find out.

Review:

Like I said in the overview, Irish is essentially a bit of Java Monster mixed with non-alcoholic Irish creme and that’s exactly what it smells like. Delicious, creamy Java Monster with a blast of a sweet, candy-like aroma which perfectly compliments the delightful coffee scent.

The flavor is a mixed bag. It’s the same creamy Java Monster flavor we all know and love but with the addition of the Irish creme. It works a lot better than you might think, but it’s still not all that good. It isn’t, by any means, bad. It’s just different, I guess. It makes you thirsty and leaves a powerful aftertaste with a bad case of coffee breath. The flavor itself is kind of fruity, very creamy, and a little overpowering.

The Irish blend’s kick seems a little more powerful than it’s brethren, though just slightly. It works well in the mornings but can provide a sufficient jolt even later in the day. It’s no cocaine or regular Monster, mind you, but it’s certainly a notable kick for an energy coffee.

Java Monster’s Irish flavor comes in a 15 oz. can for around $2.29, which is a good amount of coin cheaper than Starbuck’s Energy+Coffees, but the value in it seems minimal compared to the DoubleShot brews simply because it lacks the high quality Starbucks is known for.

Final Words:

Java Monster Irish is a unique breed of coffee. It’s a non-alcoholic Irish creme with a blast of Java Monster flavor. The flavor is super sweet, seemingly fruity in a candy-like sense, and leaves a powerful aftertaste. The kick is effective, especially when compared with other cold coffees on the market.

  2. This stuff sounds ok, but I Prefer Energyfizz. Energyfizz is a Healthy Red Bull. A combo energy drink and vitamin supplement, the healthiest energy drink on the market. 41,667 RDA of B12 per serving. That is a b12 shot the athletes get” Watch this free video now at http://www.vitalenergytoday.org

  3. I’m not certain the “unique” tag applies. There may be a difference between this and the Russian, but you’d need an electron microscope to find it. Also, the ridiculous flavor text Monster likes to put on its cans is word-for-word identical between this and the Russian. My theory: some marketing guys at Monster came up with a new name and can design and knocked off for lunch, never bothering to change the actual drink or even it’s description.

  4. oh this is the ONLY monster i will drink of ANY variety, I LOVE IT, but maybe thats because im a Bailey’s girl LOL i wish i had one right now but all my local carriers of it are sold out!!!!!!!!! šŸ™
