Review: Starbucks Cinnamon Dulce Energy+Coffee

starbucks-cinnamon-dulce1Overview:

A while back I reviewed that Vanilla blend of Starbucks’ Energy+Coffee DoubleShot line of drinks. The drink scored high with wonderful aroma and rich flavor, but got an unjustly low (I’ll explain that in the review) score in value, which ultimately lowered it’s score a little bit. I recently got my hands on the newest flavor of DoubleShot Energy+Coffee, Cinnamon Dulce, and it’s delicious.

Straight from the can:

Your extra shot, Latin style. Starbucks DoubleShot Energy+Coffee Cinnamon Dulce. A mighty brew inspired by traditional Latino beverages. A bit of coffee, vanilla, cinnamon and spice, supercharged with B vitamins, guaran and ginseng to keep you going. Are you ready for more?

Review:

The aroma is fantastic. Absolutely wonderful. It’s a very heavy, sweet aroma with an obvi0us cinnamon spice which compliments the rich coffee fragrance wonderfully. A mouth-watering aroma, indeed, and it’ll make you want to down the can of coffee faster than you can say Cinnamon Dulce. But don’t, it could very well upset your stomache.

And besides that, this is a taste you want to savor and enjoy every sip of the way. The cinnamon spice is proportioned perfectly in the blend of deliciously rich coffee and pleasantly sweet cream resulting in one of, if not the best cold coffee I have ever tasted. Period. There is, as with all coffee, a slightly bitter aftertaste which isn’t really noticeable unless you look for it and drinking it results in that coffee breath everyone hates. But it’ll be worth it, I promise.

On the kick front, Starbucks Cinnamon Dulce performs exactly as expected. It’s a steady buzz which is perfect for the mornings and it’ll keep you going strong without a crash for a good couple of hours, but it’s not a heavy-hitting jolt that’ll bounce you off the walls. It really is a perfect morning drink. What’s more is that if you only drink coffee at midnight, when the moment is not right, the buzz won’t keep you awake when you’re ready to hit the sack.

Now, as promised, I’m going to explain why I gave the vanilla blend a lower score than it deserved. The gas station where I bought it enforced some disgusting, tyranical high price to keep use laymen down in the dirt by making sure we spend our money on cold coffee and not an education to ensure we don’t waste too much money on cold coffee. They seriously charged like $3.49 for one can. So I apologize to anyone who realized I was an idiot, but I should’ve done more research.

Anyway, you get a 15 oz. can of deliciously sweet beverage for $2.59 SRP which is right on par with most other cold coffees on the market.

Final Words:

Starbucks Cinnamon Dulce DoubleShot Energy+Coffee is a remarkable new product which deserves a warm (best served chilled) welcome into your morning ritual. A delightfully sweet flavor with a perfectly proportioned addition of cinnamon spice that perfectly enhances the already stellar DoubleShot blend.
