Review: Batman: The Killing Joke

batman-the-killing-joke1

Special thanks to World 1-1′s Kyle for sending in this review. It’s his second guest review, his first was for Batman: Year One. The opinions expressed in this review and the work itself belong to Kyle Hogg.

Overview:

Writer: Alan Moore
Artist:
Brian Bolland
Publisher:
DC Comics

Alan Moore is known as one of the best comic book writers in the world. He’s written critically acclaimed greats like V for Vendetta, From Hell, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Not to mention he was also behind the single greatest comic in all of history: Watchmen. He also wrote a smaller, one-shot Batman title, The Killing Joke, which was a Joker centric title. But how good of a read is it really? And how does the artwork look in this day and age?

Review: Dear Science by TV On The Radio

tv-on-the-radio-dear-scienceOverview:

Two years ago, TV On The Radio was on the verge of becoming one of my favorite bands. Then came the night of March 8, 2007. I purchased a ticket to see them perform at The Vogue Theater in Indianapolis (aka: the Sodom and Gomorra of the Midwest). The Vogue is a 21+ venue, which shouldn’t have been a problem because I was 22 at the time. However, my driver’s license had expired, making me ineligible to get in, even though I had documented proof I was old enough to enter the putrid venue. So the evening ended with my “friends” watching the show while leaving me to sit alone in the car for over three hours.

Since then, I had been reluctant to listen to this band. While it was in no way their fault (in fact, I met two band members while waiting for my “friends” to exit) listening to them just brought back memories of that cruddy night. This reason, mixed with my non-existent cash flow, made me reluctant to purchase their new album “Dear Science.” After several months, I finally bit the bullet and bought it. After a few listens, I can officially say that all is forgiven.

Superbowl Commercials

Wondering what this year’s Superbowl commercials are going to be like? Well, you can get a preview of a decent chunk of them over at adweek.com. After looking through them myself, I can only imagine what new commercials haven’t been released publicly yet.  I realize this is only a few days early, but it’s still kind of cool. You could make a bet with someone on what some of the commercials will be and score a few bucks.

The Results are in for Poll #1!

The results for our first poll are in! Since this was our first poll we simply used it to get a rough idea of how often our readers visit the site.

The question was:
“How often do you visit Everyview”

And here are the results:

  • “Daily, or close to it” – 42% (21 votes)
  • “About once or twice a week” – 26% (13 votes)
  • “Every once in a while” – 16% (8 votes)
  • “It’s my first time!” – 16% (8 votes)
  • Total votes – 50

I closed it off at 50 votes because I thought that was plenty to get a feel for who my reader base is. Most people who voted visit near daily or at least once or twice a week. A smaller percentage of people only come every once in a while or have just found the site for their first time ever. Sure hope they come back!

A new poll will be up soon enough, but until then keep reading Everyview!

Yeah, I know it’s way too fresh and I’m way too white, but it’s wicked awesome anyway. I love standing at the end of the register bagging groceries at work and saying “Wik-wikka-rikka-tik Hel wikka-tik Hello! D-d-did you fin-rikka fi-fi-find everikka-tikka-ty thing alrikka-tikka-right?” Yeah I’m a total douche, but I don’t care. I love it.

Review: Java Monster Russian

java-monster-russian1Overview:

Coffee,  while it is a good drink, has many drawbacks which many users of the substance find irritating.  For one, it is often hot and spillage can lead to burns and other problems that can arise from handling hot fluids.  Coffee is most normally drank in a mug or thermos type container. The mugs are normally decorated with small sayings or phrases like “World’s best Dad” and other debatable facts which can lead to awkward social situations at home and in the office.

And the biggest problem is probably the brewing and mixing of the coffee, which can take considerable amounts of time which could otherwise be spent being more productive at work or spending valuable time with the family.  The scientists at the Monsters headquarters took all these problems seriously and came up with an innovative solution.  By putting coffee in a can + Energy, you have a delicious drink that you can take anywhere without all the safety hazards of regular coffee, and it gives you so much more time for productive activities!

Review: ShockWave Mango Energy Juice

Shockwave MangoOverview:

Shockwave is a Speedway exclusive product that attempts to be a cheaper alternative to your standard name brand energy juices that have recently become a craze due to the fact that they are far more healthy, and they are usually pretty good tasting to boot. We have had some pretty bad experiences with trying new drinks, though. Remember Gazzu? What about Neuro Fuel? Due to drinks like those, superior lesser-known products like Punch and Rip It often get ignored by consumers.

Is Shockwave another urine flavored waste of cash, or does it truly deserve your hard earned cash? Let’s check it out.

Review: Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard

keyboard logitech G15

Overview

The Logitech G15 was originally made in 2005. It featured 12 more “G Keys,” which are the programmable hotkeys. It also had a light blue color for the backlit keys and LCD. The revised 2007 version was shipped with only 6 hotkeys, a more compact design, orange lights, and costs about $75 or so. I’ll be reviewing the 2007 version, which is in the picture.

And if you’re at all like me then you need to watch this trailer for Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers, which may very well turn out to be the single most awesome game ever. Extremely hot asian babes slashing down the walking dead with samurai swords? Hell yeah.
